Grandmas Funderal

Well, I will not be posting for a few days. My Grandmother just passed away yesterday. She died in her sleeping going to the Angels up In heaven. I was pretty close to her however, over the years since I have finished college and enter the military I haven't really kept into contact with her. I called her in July and chatted for a few minutes but nothing to big. So I am leaving for a couple of days but I will be back.

Here are a few things that I remember about here growing up:

She always cut Pizza with scissors. I used to think that was silly but as I grew up I too use scissor instead of a pizza cutter. It really works!!

Going to my grandmother's house I always would remember playing several card games like spoons and such. The loser would always have to wear a fake pig snout mask. It was funny.

I remember that we used to go to my Grandmas and eat special cookies she always had in the cookie jar for us. Then we would watch a scary movie: Invasion of the body snatchers. I was always scared of that movie however now it is kind of dumb but it reminds me of the the great time there.

There are many things that I wanted to share but I will keep them to myself. I just wanted to let everyone know that Grandmas are special and if you are near them please give them a hug!! AFter the funderal I realized I spent some money on tickets to go to the funeral. It was expensive however I believe these things cannot be priced. I got to see many family members that I had not seen for 5 years or more. The funeral was a nice celebration of my grandmother's life. It was sad seeing her at the viewing laying lifeless. One of the last things she told my grandfather was that she was proud of me being in the Service and helping a lot of people.

Okay back to the money. These were unexpected financial obligation I had to meet. So, thank goodness that I have an emergency fund. This is what it is for. An really emergency to use it. I mean a death of the family is just one thing but what would I have done without my ING DIRECT savings account.

Lastly, I understand more clearly Suze Orman statements. People First then Money then things. When I had to spend over $400 for going to the funeral I had to think about her people first then money. Well when I get pay next week I usually put money into savings but this will not happen I need to pay down the debt that I got into. Good luck these week and work hard that is what my grandmother taught!
